One of Australia’s oldest wine districts will offer a diverse program of events for this year’s Mudgee Wine & Food Festival from 7-24 September. Highlights include Go Grazing (Sat 15 Sept), a roving cocktail party matching Mudgee wines with regional canapés; the Flavours of Mudgee (Sat 22 Sept) night market, featuring Mudgee chefs, a street festival, live music and children’s entertainment; and the 41st Mudgee Wine Show Dinner, a chance to experience up to 300 Mudgee wines, including Wine Show winners, all in one place. Qantas to add more Dallas/Fort Worth Flights
Visitors across North America will have greater access to Australia as Qantas increases its services between Sydney and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to daily from 1 July 2012. After launching the route in May 2011 with four flights per week, frequencies were increased to six per week in January and will now move to daily, reflecting strong demand. The flight operates as a codeshare with Qantas’ oneworld partner American Airlines, as part of a joint business agreement to deliver lower fares, better connections and other benefits for consumers. Launch of Djabugay Aboriginal Guided Rainforest Walking Tours
Djabugay Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (DNTAC), in partnership with Skyrail, has launched new daily aboriginal rainforest tours departing from Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Barron Falls Station. The forty minute walking tours on traditional Djabugay lands feature information on Djabugay language, stories, culture, plants, animals and rainforest living. With a maximum of ten people per group, the walk provides visitors with the opportunity to be part of a personal tour. The venture is 100% owned by Djabugay Tour Guiding Aboriginal Corporation, an entity established using matching funding support from Skyrail, Djabugay Tribal Aboriginal Corporation and a TQUAL grant. Langham Hospitality Group has secured its first flag in Sydney with the acquisition of The Observatory Hotel, Sydney which is scheduled to become part of the Langham Group on 8 August 2012. Peppers adds first Australian ski destination to its luxury retreats and lodges network
Mantra Group has announced further expansion to its network of boutique Peppers Retreats and Lodges in Australia with the addition of Rundells Alpine Lodge in Victoria's Mt Hotham ski fields. To be known as Peppers Rundells Alpine Lodge, it will be the first Peppers property to be located in an Australian ski region. This is the second acquisition for the Peppers brand in Australia this year following the addition of the iconic Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge to the network in March.
