Victoria to host the inaugural 12 Apostles Mountain Bike Classic
Victoria has announced a new event set amongst one of Australia’s most iconic landscapes, the 12 Apostles Mountain Bike Classic. Set to take place over three days, from 23 – 25 November, riders will be able to revel in the beauty of the Shipwreck Coast, as they navigate the unique course which encompasses a variety of terrains and challenging trails. Zeta Bar launches Farmer’s Market on Fridays
Hilton Sydney’s Zeta Bar has launched Farmer’s Market on Fridays, providing a cocktail experience with a quirky difference. Each Friday the bar will be transformed into a bustling market, where guests will be able to wander around and choose their own Farmer’s Mix - handpicking seasonally fresh fruit, herbs and spices from the stalls which are then turned into a bespoke cocktail. First Good Food Guide for Queensland
Queensland has welcomed the launch of the state’s first Good Food Guide, the inaugural brisbanetimes.com.au Queensland Good Food Guide 2012. The guide, set to become as renowned as the New South Wales and Victorian Good Food Guides, features 450 restaurants, cafés and bar reviews as well as ‘10 of the best’ lists which highlight the top spots for eating particular types of foods. New website showcases Indigenous Tourism
Tourism Australia has launched a new Indigenous tourism trade website, www.aboriginaltourism.australia.com. The website profiles each of the Indigenous Tourism Champions, a select group of Indigenous tourism suppliers satisfying stringent criteria to meet the needs of global trade and consumers, and provides information to assist trade with planning itineraries, pricing, how to book and where to go. New look Australian Collection at the Art Gallery of NSW
A new display of the Australian collection at the Art Gallery of New South Wales opens on 12 May 2012. The presentation of the Australian Collection has been revitalised with an increased floor area and a new lighting system, allowing more of the collection to be displayed. The new display presents some of the Gallery’s most famous and popular works of art in new contexts, highlights recent acquisitions and brings numerous works out of storage for the first time in years. For the first time it will also give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art a significant presence in the modern Australian galleries.
